Traditional Chinese characters are currently used in Taiwan (Republic of China), Hong Kong, Macau and in overseas Chinese communities (except in Singapore and Malaysia).
A large number of overseas Chinese online newspapers allow users to switch between traditional and simplified characters. The People’s Republic of China government also prints material intended to be read outside of mainland China using traditional characters.
Traditional Chinese characters are also used in Korean as Hanja, and in a moderatly modified form in modern Japanese as Kanji.
